Introduction to Survey Distribution
Distributing a Survey
When its time to distribute a survey out to an audience of choice, GetFeedback provides a web link that can be distributed over email, via social media such as Facebook or Twitter, or embedded directly into a website or blog. It is important to note that over 50% of all surveys today are opened on a smartphone or tablet. GetFeedback will automatically re-format your content to display perfectly on the device your audience is using.
**Please note that surveys do need to be completed in one session - it's not currently possible to start a survey, close the survey and then return to complete the survey at a later time. If you do start a survey, and lose internet connection, but keep the survey open and then submit the responses by clicking the "Submit" button, we will record those responses.
Options for Distributing a Survey
The basis of any survey that you share with the survey Web link (also known as the survey "URL"). A Web link can be shared easily through email, a 3rd party email service provider (such as Campaign Monitor, Constant Contact, Exact Target, etc.), posted to social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter, and embedded into another website or blog. The Web link for any survey is available in the Distribute section of any survey, as shown below:
Previewing a survey
During the survey creation process it's common to preview a survey. Previewing a survey allows a user to visually see how that survey will appear to the person receiving the survey. Please note: Clicking the preview link will not record any responses. If you would like responses to be recorded, you will want to use the live survey link.
Distributing a Survey via Email
Email is one of the most common mechanisms for survey distribution. Manually sending email allows you to craft your message of choice, include the survey Web link, and share with your desired list of recipients. GetFeedback survey links can be distributed using all standard email applications. Please note that it is possible to identify the responses that come from a specific individual with GetFeedback. Embedding a Survey in a Website or Blog
Surveys can be directly embedded into a website or blog with a basic iframe, just as we have done at the bottom of this help article, and on the homepage at www.getfeedback.com, and within the GetFeedback application (click on the Feedback button within the app). Simply replace the link identified in the src element with the Web link of your survey. Also note that you can adjust the width and height of the iframe to match your web or blog design:
