Connecting GetFeedback to Salesforce

Salesforce and GetFeedback are two separate applications running independently.  However they can be connected together to deliver an integrated experience as if they were created by the same company.  The process of connecting these applications is quite simple, as explained below.   Before beginning it is helpful to have the login credentials to both your Salesforce account and your GetFeedback account handy.  If you do not yet have a GetFeedback account you can sign up at www.getfeedback.com/pricing.  

Login to GetFeedback and navigate to Account Settings > Salesforce.  You will see the standard "Connect to Salesforce" button, as shown below:

Upon clicking "Connect to Salesforce" you will go through the standard Salesforce flow to connect the applications.  A window will popup that first presents a page (hosted and maintained by Salesforce) that asks you for your Salesforce account credentials. Please note that GetFeedback never has access to your Salesforce account credentials and anytime.  The authentication will look something like this:






After entering your Salesforce credentials, the second step in the process is to authorize GetFeedback to push data into Salesforce based on your survey configurations.  You have 2 options, selecting "Allow" will authorize the connection, and selecting "Deny" will cancel the process.  The authorization dialogue will look like this.

Disconnecting or Switching Salesforce Accounts

Disconnecting Salesforce accounts is specifically useful if you set up your initial configuration to test against a Salesforce Sandbox Org but are now switching to your Salesforce Production Org. The process for disconnecting GetFeedback and Salesforce is quite simple as well.  Simply login to your GetFeedback account and navigate to Account Settings > Salesforce, where you will find a button to disconnect the two accounts.  With one confirmation the two accounts will be permanently disconnected and you can re-connect to another Salesforce account.



Recommended Configurations for Salesforce Sandbox Orgs

Because Salesforce Sandboxes are used for development and testing purposes, many GetFeedback customers often wonder how to set up a GetFeedback environment for use with BOTH a Salesforce Sandbox Org and a Salesforce Production Org.  While it is possible to use only 1 GetFeedback account for both Salesforce Sandbox and Production configurations (switching accounts, as noted above), we recommend a specific setup that can be found in this article: Recommended Setup for Salesforce Sandbox Configurations
